Want2DJ provides inclusive, neurodiversity-friendly DJ and music sessions for children, young people and adults.

Sessions are designed for people who may benefit from a more flexible and supportive approach to learning, including autistic people, ADHDers, disabled learners, people experiencing anxiety, low confidence, social isolation, burnout, or those returning to learning after a difficult period.

DJing combines music, creativity and technology, giving people a practical and enjoyable way to build skills, confidence and self-expression.

WHAT WE OFFER

• 1:1 DJ lessons

• Beginner-friendly music and DJ technology support

• Support with DJ software, equipment and music organisation

• Confidence-building through creative learning

• Flexible learning at a pace that suits the individual

For many learners, DJing becomes more than a hobby. It can provide structure, focus, a sense of achievement, self-expression, and a positive outlet for creativity.

OUR APPROACH

Our sessions focus on:

• Clear, step-by-step teaching

• Patience and flexibility

• Reduced pressure and performance expectations

• Learning through interest and enjoyment

• Adapting sessions to individual communication and processing styles

Many learners develop more than just DJ skills. Sessions can help build confidence, focus, organisation, problem-solving skills, independence and self-expression.

Support is available for complete beginners, learners returning to DJing after a break, and those looking to build confidence with music technology and DJ software.

Sessions are centred around the individual rather than the equipment, with learning adapted to suit communication preferences, processing styles, confidence levels and personal goals.

Sessions are available in person and, where appropriate, online.

No previous experience is required.

We recognise that a person's presentation does not always reflect the level of effort required to participate, learn or engage. Many learners appear confident or capable on the surface whilst managing significant challenges behind the scenes. Sessions are adapted to the individual, creating a supportive environment where people can learn, explore and develop skills in a way that works for them.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Initial enquiry

We start with a conversation to understand the learner, their interests, goals and any support needs.

Getting started

The first session focuses on becoming comfortable with the environment, equipment and learning process. There is no expectation to perform or already know anything about DJing.

Personalised learning

Sessions are tailored to the individual and may cover DJ skills, music organisation, software, equipment, confidence-building and creative expression.

Learning at your pace

Progress is guided by the learner. Some people enjoy a structured, step-by-step approach, whilst others prefer a more flexible style based around their interests and goals.

Ongoing support

Sessions can continue for as long as they are helpful, whether the goal is learning a new skill, building confidence, developing independence or simply enjoying music in a supportive environment.

FUNDING AND PAYMENT OPTIONS

Sessions may be funded through:

• Self-funding

• Parent or family funding

• Direct Payments

• Personal Budgets

• Education settings, charities or organisations purchasing sessions on behalf of a learner

If you are unsure whether funding is available, please get in touch to discuss your circumstances.
