Employment and Benefits
Only three in 10 autistic people are in work, the lowest of any disability. Many autistic people can and want to work but face multiple barriers both in finding employment and progressing when in work. Autistic people who need financial support to cover the extra costs associated with being disabled face long delays, a lack of understanding and a gruelling assessment system to prove they qualify for benefits.
We are campaigning for every autistic person who can and wants to work to receive the support they need to be able to do so. We also campaign for a fair and just welfare system to support all autistic people including those who cannot work.
