Young Campaigners
Our Young Campaigners are a group of autistic young people who are passionate about creating a world that really works for autistic people. The Young Campaigners work with each other and our charity to learn more about campaigning for change, as well as sharing their experiences and consulting on our work.
Our Young Campaigners have a wide range of skills, interests and motivations. Find out more about some of them below.

Nidhi
Nidhi is an AuDHD medical student, neurodivergent advocate and founder of Behind The Smiles, a platform dedicated to educating, supporting and empowering neurodivergent people. Her advocacy spans a broad range of spaces, from education and healthcare to sport, recently running the London Marathon to raise funds for the National Autistic Society.

Holly
My name is Holly and I was diagnosed with autism at 17. My special interests are ballet and music, but I also love bears and the snow. I am passionate about creating change for autistic people, especially in the education system and mental health services.

Oliver
Oliver is a Neurodivergent and mental health-focused interdisciplinary artist and filmmaker. They see the arts as a tool for advocacy and social change, while exploring the Neurodivergent aesthetic. Their work delves into lived experiences and anthropological themes, documenting views on society through a satirical, raw and gritty lens of realism.

Ismail
My name is Ismail K, and I work as a film publicist in London. Over the past year, I’ve begun opening up about being autistic and sharing my experiences. I’m passionate about improving understanding and representation to help create positive change that improves people’s lives.

Jamie
I’m Jamie, an autistic athlete and coach from Liverpool. I use my platform to raise awareness about autism and mental health, sharing my journey from struggling in school to becoming a British disability trampoline champion, breaking world records, becoming a business owner and speaking to young people about resilience and opportunity.

Lilly
Hi! I work at a university helping students with their employability, and outside work I can usually be found reading, weaving, or playing with my two cats.
I’m excited to bring my lived experience to the programme, and learn about campaigning for change at this important time for autism advocacy.

Mia
Hi, I’m Mia and I’m autistic. I love theme parks and rollercoasters, but I’m also passionate about making the world a better place for autistic people. I especially want to help improve the education system so autistic students are better understood and supported. I’m so excited to be a Young Campaigner 😊

Bunni
Hi, I’m Bunni, a Young Campaigner with the National Autistic Society. I’m passionate about communicating the experiences of autistic people and encouraging self-advocacy in our community. I want to advocate for all neuro-divergent voices to be included in conversations that affect them.
