NAS Croydon Social and Communication Difficulties Course is set up by The National Autistic Society (NAS) to provide information, advice and support to the parents and carers of children aged under 5, living in Croydon. You do not need a diagnosis to attend this course. It is appropriate for families of any child who is known to be experiencing social and communication difficulties which might have been noticed by the parent paediatrician, nursery setting or any other supporting professional.
It is an 8-week course, run termly with both in person and online options.
This course includes topics such as:
- Understanding and supporting communication
- Visual supports
- Understanding and supporting behaviour
- Sensory differences
Families can be referred by a professional or refer themselves by contacting Croydon SCD at croydonscd@nas.org.uk.
Eligibility
Age: To age 5
Aimed at: Parent/carer of a child
Referral Sources: Education, NHS and Private, NHS Consultant, Social Care, Yourself
