Beth and Laura are the partnership behind Understanding Minds LLP and provide multidisciplinary autism assessments for children and young people across the North East of England and West and South Yorkshire. Our clinical psychology and speech and language therapy team brings together extensive professional expertise and lived family experience of neurodivergence, shaping a practice that is genuinely respectful and person centred. We celebrate strengths while identifying specific needs and valuing lived experience.

Our mission is to help you gain a shared, evidence-based understanding of your child’s unique strengths, needs, and neurotype. We empower families, schools, and services to put in place meaningful support that truly fits who your child is and helps them navigate the world with confidence. We believe every child deserves to be understood for their authentic self. Our comprehensive reports and compassionate process ensure that the path forward is built on a foundation of respect and practical guidance tailored to your child’s life.
