The Neurodiversity Service is an independent UK neurodiversity assessment practice founded to give families and adults a clear, timely alternative to multi-year NHS waiting lists. We provide private diagnostic assessments for autism in children, teenagers and adults, alongside cognitive assessments, with ADHD assessment launching in autumn 2026.

Assessments are delivered in person or online by HCPC-registered clinicians working to NICE-aligned standards. A typical autism assessment includes structured screening, the ADOS-2 observational assessment, a detailed developmental history interview, school or informant questionnaires, and multidisciplinary clinical review. Families receive a comprehensive written diagnostic report designed to be genuinely useful: clear conclusions, evidence, and practical recommendations suitable for schools, SENCOs, local authorities and EHCP applications.

We publish our prices openly and offer payment plans. A child autism assessment is £2,500 and an adult autism assessment is £1,950, with no hidden extras for the report or feedback session.

Diagnosis is a starting point, not a destination. We offer structured post-diagnostic support including a six-session one-to-one programme exploring autistic identity, a six-week group programme, flexible ongoing sessions and family support sessions, so no one is handed a report and left to work out what it means alone.

The practice is led by our Clinical Director Dr Charlie Bamford, HCPC-registered practitioner psychologist (PYL37547), and is based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, with assessment venues across the West Midlands, North West and Midlands (including Birmingham, Manchester, Wolverhampton, Stoke-on-Trent, Coventry, Solihull, Chester and Derby) and online assessment available UK-wide.
