At Cygnet Hospital Harrow, the specialist autism spectrum condition (ASC) services are split into two areas: 1. The Springs Unit is a 16-bed specialist mental health service for adult males with autism spectrum disorders, Asperger syndrome or high functioning autism (HFA). We provide a person-centred approach to health care in a centre of excellence, providing a low secure rehabilitative environment to facilitate the safe and effective management of service users with behavioural problems. 2. The Springs Wing is a 10-bed highly specialist open rehabilitation service for individuals with an ASC. It provides a recovery focused programme for people with very particular and complex mental health needs and co-morbidities (ASC eg Asperger syndrome and high functioning autism). The service is an inpatient - low secure and community-focused step down.
