Hello! I’m Tristan Warr, a qualified male counsellor with a passion for walking beside others through life’s challenges and helping them discover new perspectives along the way.

Counselling helped me through some unexpected and difficult changes in my own life, so I understand that life can be tough, and often doesn’t go the way we planned. But I also believe there is strength and beauty in the gift of life. Years after experiencing counselling as a client, I returned to it from a different perspective: as a qualified counsellor. With experience working in structured organisations and charities, I’ve created my own counselling space where people can feel safe to be fully themselves, without judgement.

Over time, I’ve worked with people with all sorts of stories. From college students navigating anxiety about the future, to new parents experiencing postnatal depression, to those in midlife questioning their direction, and even clients in later years reflecting on meaning and legacy.

Whatever your stage in life, you are welcome here. Together, we’ll equip you with the tools you need to move toward who you want to be.

--------------------

I offer in-person, in my counselling room or outdoor walking (wheelchair accessible), and online therapy for individual adults.

I work in an integrative way, which means I use different types of therapy depending on what feels right for you. Kind of like picking the right tool for the job. I believe there’s no one-size-fits-all in counselling.

I always start with person-centred listening. By really listening to you with kindness and without judgement, helping you find your own answers in your own time. Along the way, I might bring in ideas from different approaches like Transactional Analysis (TA), which helps us understand how we talk to ourselves and others, or Gestalt, which helps you tune into what you’re feeling right now so you can make better choices. Existential therapy can help you explore meaning and purpose in life. I also love using creative methods and the calm of nature and outdoor spaces to support your personal growth.

Because everyone is unique, the space we create together will be shaped to fit your needs.

--------------------

I adapt the environment to reduce sensory overload and increase predictability. I use softer or natural light where possible, and have dimmable lights so clients can choose what feels comfortable. I keep the space as quiet as possible and minimise background noise. I offer sensory supports such as textured objects. I ask clients about their specific sensory needs try and to accommodate requests.

Before being a counsellor, I previously worked as a Senior Residential Support Worker, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs, helping them achieve their daily targets and lead meaningful and fulfilling lives within their communities.

--------------------

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the Association of Christians in Counselling (ACC). I work within their ethical frameworks and professional standards.

I offer a free consultation, so you can get a feel for how this might work for you. Think of it as a quick chat before the real journey begins. No pressure, just a chance to connect and decide if this feels right for you.
