Private ADHD - Autism and ADHD Assessments

Main information

Service categories: Diagnosticians

Private ADHD is a CQC-regulated specialist assessment service providing private autism spectrum disorder and ADHD assessments for both adults and children. Our clinicians are GMC-registered psychiatrists and CPD-trained ADHD and autism specialists with extensive experience in neurodevelopmental assessment and diagnosis.

We understand how long the wait for an NHS autism assessment can be, and how much uncertainty that brings for individuals and their families. Our service was built to offer a faster, high-quality alternative without compromising on clinical rigour. Every assessment we carry out follows NICE guidelines and uses the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria, so you can be confident in the outcome.

Assessments are available online via secure video consultation from anywhere in the UK, as well as in person at our London clinic. There is no GP referral required to book. You can self-refer directly through our website or by calling our team, and we can typically offer appointments within a short timeframe compared to NHS waiting lists, which currently run to several years in many areas.

For adults, our services include autism spectrum disorder assessments, ADHD assessments, neuropsychology testing, second opinion assessments, medication management, structured titration programmes, and repeat prescriptions. Where ADHD is also present alongside autism, our clinicians are well placed to assess and support both conditions. We also offer shared care agreements with GP practices, with a 99 percent acceptance rate, so your ongoing treatment can be managed locally once your care is established.

For children and young people aged 6 to 18, we offer autism and ADHD assessments delivered by consultant-level specialists, available both online and in person. Our clinicians take a careful, child-centred approach, gathering information from parents and carers as well as from the young person themselves to build a complete picture. Each assessment results in a detailed written report that can be shared with schools, local authorities, and other professionals to support access to the right education and care.

Following any assessment, our team is available to answer questions about the report, discuss next steps, and signpost to relevant support. We believe a diagnosis is the beginning of a journey, not just a piece of paper, and we try to make sure every person who comes through our service leaves with a clear sense of what comes next.

Private ADHD is registered with and regulated by the Care Quality Commission. All clinicians hold current GMC registration and relevant specialist qualifications. Our assessments are accepted by GPs, schools, employers, and local authorities across the UK.
