Positive Support Group provides specialist, person-centred support for autistic children, young people and adults, including people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and behaviours of concern.
We use evidence-based Positive Behaviour Support to understand what may be contributing to a person’s difficulties and develop practical, individualised support.
Our services include Functional Behaviour Assessments, Positive Behaviour Support planning, parent and carer support, professional training, crisis and placement-breakdown prevention, support around disordered eating, return to education, hospital discharge and suicide prevention.
We work collaboratively with the individual, their family and the wider professional network, with a strong focus on improving quality of life, increasing independence and reducing the need for restrictive practices or unnecessary hospital and residential admissions.
Support can be provided across the UK, remotely or in person depending on the service required. A formal diagnosis is not always required, and support is based on the person’s presenting needs.
Services may be privately funded or commissioned/funded through education, health or social care organisations, subject to local assessment and approval.
