I provide specialist occupational therapy online and in Norfolk, UK, for autistic teenagers and young people, including those who are self-identified, exploring diagnosis, or without a formal diagnosis.
As an autistic occupational therapist, I offer a neuro-affirming, lived-experience-informed approach that recognises autism as simply one of the many 'profiles' in our neurodiverse population that needs to be better understood, rather than something to be 'fixed'.
My work focuses on supporting young people to live more comfortably and confidently in their daily lives, on their own terms. Therapy is guided by the young person’s own goals and priorities, whether this relates to managing anxiety, reducing the need for masking, developing emotional regulation skills, navigating social situations and building skills, improving independence, or coping with transitions such as adolescence and different levels of education.
Sessions are adapted to suit each person’s sensory, communication, and processing needs. This may include flexible session structure, reduced demands, activity-focused work, visual tools to support communication, and a strong emphasis on building trust and safety.
I also provide support to families with communication in between sessions and resources to aid deeper understanding of different aspects of teen experiences and potential difficulties, and to build their tools and strategies.
My aim is to reduce distress, increase self-understanding and self-acceptance, and help young people feel more empowered, regulated, and able to engage in the activities that matter most to them.
Please do reach out for a free consultation to discuss whether I might be the right fit to help your loved one.
