Welcome to Merryfields School. We are a generic special school located in the heart of Wolstanton Staffordshire, providing specialist education for pupils with an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) from Nursery age to Year 6. Our dedicated and skilled staff work to provide all of our pupils with a high quality educational provision, whilst taking their individual needs into consideration.

As a generic school, we support pupils with a range of needs. Our pupils are valued as individuals and we work to empower our pupils to progress in all areas and to achieve their potential. Our Mission Statement of ‘Nurturing a love of learning for life’ is the cornerstone of everything we do as we strive to develop confident and independent pupils who are enthusiastic about their learning. Within school we work with a range of professionals to support all of our pupils, including the nursing team, speech and language and occupational therapists alongside other agencies.

In 2019, and again in 2024, we were awarded the NAS Specialist Advanced Award for our excellent practice and provision for pupils with a diagnosis of Autism and their families.

In September 2025 we were awarded the prestigious Beacon Award. This recognition was a testament to the exceptional work and significant impact on the understanding and support of autistic individuals.
