Main information

Service categories: Counselling and therapies

Hi, I hope the following information helps you find out a bit more about me, if not I offer a free 15 minute initial chat (or email exchange if you don't like talking on the phone!) - please contact me on 07394 946427 or lucywestoncounselling@gmail.com for more information on this or to book an initial session.

I have sessions available in person in Bradford on Avon (near Bath), as well as online.

I can assure you that I am trauma informed and neuro-affirming in my counselling practice, and have specific lived and professional experience, training and interest in supporting autistic people and those with ADHD (including AuDHD) navigating the overwhelmingly neurotypical world around us.

I am late diagnosed autistic myself, and as a parent carer of neurodivergent teenagers, neurodivergence is also my passion and special interest.

It is my aim that you feel safe, heard and validated in counselling sessions with me, and I offer you genuine kindness, warmth and compassion in supporting you to build self understanding, acceptance, and coping skills.

As a person-centred and integrative counsellor, I will work with you to tailor support to your needs. Together we may explore your current and past experiences, seeing how they impact your life, your relationships, and your inner thoughts and processes.

We may look at incorporating more self-care into your life, identifying your specific needs and how to meet them, exploring ways to self-regulate, manage overwhelm and work through life’s obstacles. This may include mindfulness, creative work, sensory needs, and building an understanding of the unique ways in which you communicate and process experiences and emotions.

I have many years experience in supporting clients with a variety of challenges including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, dealing with an inner critical voice, difficulties with relationships, and obstacles to self acceptance and self care.

My qualifications are training are as follows:

  • Level 6 Diploma in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling, Bath College of Psychotherapy and Counselling (BCPC)
  • Foundation Certificate in Counselling and Psychotherapy (BCPC)
  • Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling, Counselling Tutor, ACTO (Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy Online) and BACP recognised

Professional development certificates including developing Neuro-Affirming Practice, counselling autistic and ADHD clients, and working with clients who have experienced trauma in their lives.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their code of ethics.
