I am passionate about working with parents who want to understand the needs of their child, particularly where they might have concerns about their child's development e.g. learning or social skills. Many parents that I work with find that their child is struggling to regulate emotions, which can be shown through behavioural distress. This can have a significant impact on families, and parents may be unsure how to adapt their response. Very often, parents have tried the approaches that they are familiar with, which might have worked for siblings, but don't seem to have the same effect for their child with additional needs.

I offer family-focused support which involves understanding your needs as parents, recognising the parenting journey you have been on, and considering your child’s particular developmental strengths and needs. The therapeutic support I offer is tailored to each family, and may involve sessions with parents or children themselves, parent-child sessions, or the whole family together.

If your child’s needs are unclear, but you feel as though they are struggling in areas such as their learning, relationships with others, communication, or their ability to regulate emotions, then a neurodevelopmental assessment could be useful. I offer comprehensive psychological assessmenrts which lead to a formulation of the difficulties, and where appropriate, a diagnosis of a neurodevelopmental condition, such as autism, ADHD or a learning disability.
