Main information

Service categories: Counselling and therapies

Heathwell is a group therapy practice in Blackheath Village, Southeast London. We specialise in autism support alongside our work with couples and relationship therapy, art therapy and adolescent therapy.

Autism-informed therapy is provided through two independent clinicians, each bringing specialist expertise and distinct therapeutic approaches to working with autistic adults.

Dr George Samoilis is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with highly specialist NHS experience in autism and learning disabilities. He has taught and supervised postgraduate practitioners at the Anna Freud Centre, training future therapists in working therapeutically with autistic individuals. His approach draws on psychodynamic, humanistic and trauma-focused models, offering space to explore experiences at a pace that feels right for each person. Sessions focus on understanding patterns of emotion and connection, processing experiences of isolation or burnout, and developing a stronger sense of identity and self-acceptance.

Funmi Deinde is a Psychiatrist and accredited Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy practitioner. She completed her specialist training at the Anna Freud Centre, where she received focused training in autism. Funmi offers structured, relational therapy that supports emotional understanding, regulation and self-awareness. Her work is grounded in compassion and collaboration, providing clarity and safety for those who value a predictable therapeutic process. Sessions help to make sense of patterns in relationships, develop practical strategies for emotional regulation, and strengthen confidence in daily life.

While their therapeutic approaches differ, both clinicians share a commitment to neuro-affirming, trauma-informed practice that respects and values autistic identity. Sessions are adapted to individual communication and processing styles, creating an environment of clarity, predictability and safety where understanding and self-compassion can develop.
