Therapy and Psychological Support

We provide specialist, neurodiversity-affirming psychological therapy and support for autistic children and young people. Our approach is individualised, strengths-based and tailored to each child or young person’s developmental, communication and sensory needs.

Support may include:

  • Understanding and making sense of an autism diagnosis
  • Anxiety and emotional regulation
  • Social understanding, communication and relationships
  • Managing change, uncertainty and transitions
  • School-related anxiety and difficulties accessing education
  • Sensory needs, overwhelm and autistic burnout
  • Confidence, self-esteem and self-advocacy
  • Parent advice and support
  • Specialist recommendations and liaison with schools

Therapy is adapted to the individual child or young person, with the aim of supporting wellbeing, understanding and participation rather than changing autistic characteristics.

Autism Diagnostic Assessments

We provide specialist multidisciplinary autism diagnostic assessments for children and young people.

Assessments are completed by two experienced clinicians and follow current NICE guidance and recognised best-practice standards. They include developmental history, direct assessment, information from parents/carers and, where appropriate, information from school.

A detailed diagnostic report is provided following the assessment, together with individualised recommendations for home, education and any further support that may be helpful.
