Emma Shepley Psychology Services
Main information
Service categories: Counselling and therapies, Diagnosticians
Dr Emma Shepley offers comprehensive, evidence-based autism assessments for adults aged 18 and over. Assessments are conducted entirely online, making them accessible from anywhere in the UK, at a time that works for the individual. Appointments are available seven days a week, including evenings, to provide flexibility.
Her assessment process is thorough and grounded in current NICE guidelines and best-practice standards. It includes detailed developmental history-taking, structured clinical interviews, and the use of standardised tools where appropriate. Following assessment, a clear and comprehensive diagnostic report is provided, which can be used to support workplace adjustments or further support if needed.
Emma brings both professional expertise and personal understanding to her work. Alongside extensive experience supporting autistic and neurodivergent adults in clinical settings, she also has a close family member who is autistic. This combination informs a respectful, neuro-affirming, and strengths-based approach, where individuals feel genuinely understood.
In addition to assessments, Emma offers therapy tailored specifically to the needs of autistic and neurodivergent adults. She integrates approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and EMDR, adapting these thoughtfully to support issues including anxiety, burnout, trauma, masking, sensory overwhelm, and identity exploration.
Her aim is to create a safe, validating, and collaborative space where each person feels heard, respected, and supported throughout their journey.
