Emma Ramarge Trauma and neuro-affirming Counselling

Main information

Service categories: Counselling and therapies

Hi, I'm Emma

I'm a trauma-trained, neuro-affirming counsellor based by Frome in Somerset and on the Wiltshire border near Trowbridge and Westbury. I work with adults and young people aged 15+.

Alongside trauma, I have extensive training in Autism, ADHD, AuDHD, OCD, sensory differences and ARFID. Much of my work focuses on the overlap between trauma and neurodivergence, including masking, burnout, shutdown, anxiety, emotional overwhelm and the impact of feeling misunderstood or having to adapt to environments that don't fit.

I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Every person is different, so we'll work together to find what feels right for you. Sessions can be more structured or more open, slower-paced when needed, and may include talking therapy alongside body-based, grounding or nervous system regulation approaches. There is no expectation to communicate in a particular way or to "get therapy right."

In addition to my professional training, I also bring lived experience. I'm dyslexic and a parent of neurodivergent children- autistic, OCD and Tourette's- so I understand that neurodiversity isn't simply something to learn about; it's something that shapes everyday life.

  • Adults and young people aged 15+

How I Work

The relationship we build is at the heart of therapy. I aim to provide a calm, accepting and non-judgemental space where you don't have to hide parts of yourself or explain away your experiences.

My work is informed by trauma theory, attachment, nervous system regulation and somatic approaches, while remaining grounded in person-centred counselling. Therapy is collaborative, which means we work at your pace and adapt sessions to suit your needs rather than expecting you to fit a particular therapeutic model.
