• I am a medical doctor with specialist training in mental health. I have worked as a General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist in the NHS in Glasgow since 2005.
• I developed an interest in adult autism from 2012, attending training at Cambridge set up by Simon Baron-Cohen in March 2014 for Adult Asperger's Assessment. I completed DISCO training set up by Lorna Wing in Oxford with the adult autism team in Glasgow in 2015.
• I have subsequently attended a wide variety of assessment and management training courses in autism.
• I have been a member of the special interest group in neurodevelopmental conditions at the Royal College of Psychiatrists since it began in 2017.
• I have a particular interest in autism and related neurodevelopmental conditions (NDCs) such as ADHD, and in the treatment of mental health difficulties in NDCs.
• NDCs are often mixed, and single condition or exclusively NDC assessments are not recommended by the Royal College of Psychiatrists in Scotland, as these may miss differential or co-occurring conditions. A request for a NDC assessment can be undertaken in the context of comprehensive psychiatric assessment and using appropriate screening and diagnostic tools.
• Treatment and monitoring for individuals with ADHD and/or autism diagnosed through other appropriate services can be offered. 
• I am an Approved Medical Practitioner under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment)(Scotland) Act 2003 and can provide capacity and other reports on request.
• I am an approved BUPA consultant psychiatrist.
