Counselling for autistic adults
What if you didn't have to work so hard at being yourself?
Perhaps you've spent years trying to work out the rules everyone else seems to know. Watching, learning, adapting, masking. Trying to be the right amount of everything, without being too much or not enough. And perhaps you're a little tired of it all.
I'm Cerrie, and I offer online and face-to-face counselling for autistic adults. I'm a little quirky, I don't believe in squeezing people into boxes, and I'm really not interested in helping you become a more acceptable version of yourself.
I'd much rather get to know the real you.
The you who might have a hundred thoughts at once, feel things deeply, need time to process, see the world differently or have interests that make your eyes light up. The you who may have spent years hiding parts of yourself because experience has taught you that not everyone will understand.
You don't have to make yourself smaller here.
My approach is neuro-affirming. I don't see autism as something to fix, and I'm not going to expect you to mask your way through our sessions. We can work together to figure out what helps you feel comfortable, communicate in ways that work for you, and explore whatever brought you here. There's room for silence, tangents, big feelings, uncertainty and the things you haven't quite found words for yet.
Perhaps you're navigating burnout, anxiety, relationships, boundaries or the exhaustion of trying to keep up with a world that doesn't always feel designed for you. Perhaps you're exploring a late diagnosis, questioning whether you might be autistic, or simply trying to understand yourself a little better.
Whatever brings you here, you don't have to arrive with everything figured out.
I think there's something rather wonderful about finding people you can finally let your guard down with. People who care about who you actually are, don't need you to explain every difference, and value you as a person rather than how well you fit in.
Counselling can't change the world around you overnight, but it can give you space to explore who you are beneath those expectations, what matters to you, and what life might look like if you felt a little freer to be yourself.
You don't need to become someone else to belong.
Let's start with who you are.
