Bartles Foundry is a small, family run psychological practice based in West Hampstead, London. We offer autism and ADHD assessments for children, young people and adults.
We take a neurodiversity affirmative and psychologically informed approach. For us, this means we are interested not only in whether someone meets diagnostic criteria, but in how they experience the world. We are curious about what has shaped them, what helps them and what might be making things harder. We try to make the process feel thoughtful, respectful and human, rather than rushed or impersonal.
We take an artisan approach to assessment, so each person is treated as a unique individual rather than part of a long line. We often describe our assessments as more like something carefully made than something processed. We take time. We listen. We adapt what we do to the person in front of us, rather than fitting people into a fixed template.
We are a small multidisciplinary team with backgrounds in clinical psychology and education. This helps us think about development, learning, mental health, relationships and everyday life together, rather than in separate boxes. We work with people who have simple questions and with people whose situations are more complex. This can include overlapping diagnoses, mental health difficulties or experiences of adversity and exclusion.
We offer in school observations across London and Hertfordshire where this is helpful. We also hold a quarterly clinic in Cornwall.
Many people come to us after feeling misunderstood or mislabelled, or worn down by services that have not quite fitted them. We try to be mindful of that and to offer something calmer and clearer. We explain what we are doing, why we are doing it and how we reach our conclusions.
Our reports are written in clear language and are meant to be useful, not just technically correct. We want them to help people understand themselves better and support conversations with families, schools or other professionals.
As a family run practice, we do not pay fees or commissions to anyone else. That means we can keep our fees lower and pass that saving on.
We aim to offer assessments that feel careful, fair and respectful of difference.
