Autism Assessment at Two Can Talk

Main information

Service categories: Diagnosticians

The Autism Clinic at Two Can Talk provides gold-standard, in-person autism spectrum assessments for children and young people aged 3 to 18. Based in Mildenhall, Suffolk, our clinic offers immediate availability with no multi-year waiting lists.

How Our Service Is Tailored for Autistic People:

  • Purpose-Built Sensory Environment:

Our bespoke 7,000 sq. ft. clinic in Mildenhall is specifically designed to prevent sensory overload. The clinic features custom low-stimulus lighting, quiet assessment spaces and a sensory-motor gym, allowing children to move and engage naturally in a safe environment.

  • Low-Stress Assessment Pathway:

To make the experience as calm and comfortable as possible, we conduct the 3-hour parent/carer interview remotely via Zoom beforehand. This minimises the young person’s required in-clinic time to just one focused, calm hour.

  • Understanding Diverse & Subtle Profiles:

Our clinicians have specialist expertise in recognising varied neurodivergent presentations. We actively assess and support high-masking individuals (frequently seen in girls and teens) and those with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) profiles.

  • Multidisciplinary Clinical Excellence:

Assessments adhere strictly to NICE guidelines and utilise gold-standard ADOS-2 and ADI-R diagnostic frameworks. Evaluations are delivered by a complete in-house multidisciplinary team consisting of Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs), Occupational Therapists (OTs), Clinical Psychologists, and Paediatric Specialists.

  • EHCP-Ready Documentation:

Our comprehensive diagnostic reports clearly outline the child’s individual strengths and support needs. Reports are fully recognised by local authorities and educational bodies to support Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) applications and classroom adjustments.

  • Post-Diagnostic Guidance & Practical Support:

We believe diagnosis is the beginning of a journey, not the end. Every assessment includes detailed educational recommendations, practical behavioral and sensory strategies, signposting, and follow-up support to empower families and schools.
