247CALM creates sensory-friendly clothing designed to make everyday environments more comfortable for autistic and neurodivergent people, particularly those who experience sensory sensitivities.
Our Hush Hoodie has been developed with a sensory-first approach, focusing on common sources of discomfort such as irritating seams and labels, certain textures, pressure preferences and overwhelming environmental noise.
The hoodie is made from soft, heavyweight 100% organic cotton and uses flat-lock seams and a tag-free construction to reduce rubbing and irritation against the skin. Weighted fabric panels are integrated across the chest and shoulders to provide gentle, evenly distributed pressure and a more grounded feeling for people who find this type of sensory input comfortable.
A triple-layer hood helps soften surrounding sounds, which may be useful in busy or noisy environments such as public transport, shopping centres, schools, universities, workplaces or while travelling.
Other sensory-considered details include a smooth plastic quarter-zip to avoid cold metal against the skin, extended sleeves with thumbholes, a relaxed fit that allows natural movement and stimming, and a discreet internal pocket for keeping personal items secure.
The Hush Hoodie has a discreet, everyday appearance, allowing autistic people to access sensory-friendly features without wearing something that looks clinical or visibly different from ordinary clothing.
We recognise that every autistic person has different sensory preferences and needs. The Hush Hoodie is therefore offered as an optional sensory-friendly clothing choice rather than a treatment or medical intervention.
