We want the Autism Friendly Award to help businesses understand autism, opening themselves up to the many autistic people who might otherwise feel shut out.

Better public understanding is at the root of improving access to our public spaces, reducing the social isolation felt by some autistic people, and in effect making such spaces more comfortable for everyone.

Autistic people and their family and friends are best placed to inform business owners and advise on the challenges they might face in any particular venue.

If you would like to approach a business to encourage them to apply for the Autism Friendly Award, we have developed some resources to help you.
