Working with the National Autistic Society through the Autism at Work programme, we are offering a role as a refuse collection loader, working as part of a team in Croydon/Sutton.
In this role, you will:
- To ensure, identification of hazardous waste, defects in the highway, apparently abandoned vehicles, and dumped items that you cannot remove are reported to Ganger, Charge hand or Manager daily.
- Clean up accident debris and small animal carcases as necessary, providing it is safe to do so, check with line manager where necessary,
- Clear leaves / blossom in autumn. In ice and snow conditions apply rock salt to footways, pedestrian crossings, road islands and public steps, where instructed to do so.
- Carry out work in a safe manner in line with Safe Systems of work and relevant Risk Assessments. Ensure as far as is reasonably practicable that the public are minimally inconvenienced and that your work does not cause a hazard to people, vehicles and properly.

- Physically able to carry out the duties of the job description.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and ensure all work is completed to standards laid down.
- Ability to communicate verbally with colleagues, members of the public etc.

At Ditton Manor, everyone helps across all aspects of the venue and we are looking for candidates to help across these tasks:
- Arrange meeting rooms and event spaces by moving chairs and tables.
- Set up teas and coffees and notepads and pens.
- Maintain cleanliness and order throughout the venue.
- Assist with basic food preparation for events.
- Provide excellent client service during events.
Please note that this role requires lots of standing, walking, carrying heavy items between rooms and buildings and so a good level of fitness is required.
