Andy is an autistic Youtuber, who was diagnosed with a form of autism called Pervasive Developmental Disorder – Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS) over 20 years ago. Talking about his past, Andy described his life as “tough which would be an understatement”. However, he started his YouTube channel in 2016 to help raise awareness of autism and improve understanding of autism. But most importantly, he wants to show how diverse autistic people can be with their interests, challenges and view of the world.

Alongside his YouTube channel, Andy is working full-time as an administrator in a utilities company and was last year named apprentice of the year at his previous workplace.

In his spare time, he is a musician playing the guitar in a rock band called Sonic Void, which he loves! Whether it’s creating a new song or just messing around with the effects board, Andy lives and breathes music. He also mentions that he loves spending time with his fiancé who is the love of his life as well as his nearest and dearest.

We reached out to Andy on Twitter after seeing his videos. We loved his positive approach on speaking about autism and asked whether he would be interested in getting involved in our national campaign, Too Much Information. Andy shared his reaction vlog to our new #AutismTMI film Diverted along with our other content creators, which was shared across our social media channels. Since then, Andy bravely spoke about his mental health as part of our Mental Health Awareness Week content. It takes a lot of courage to speak about mental health, due to the stigma that is attached, so we thank Andy for his confidence to speak up and out.

It’s been a pleasure working with Andy, and we can’t wait to work on more projects together with him.
