Unlock Psychology Ltd is a Clinical Psychology service which provides private ADHD and autism assessments for adults, all led by a Clinical Psychologist. We take a friendly, thorough and transparent approach to our assessments. We are physically based in Warwick at The Court House in the town centre for in-person assessments, but we also offer assessments fully online.
We follow the NICE guidelines and use gold standard assessment tools, namely the ACIA and/or the ADI-R for autism and the DIVA-5 for ADHD, alongside a clinical interview and developmental history to make sure we fully understand you and your needs. Our reports have been accepted by NHS and other services. Our Clinical Psychologists also provide psychological therapy for adults, working in an adapted and neuro-affirmative way as helpful. We offer an initial 20 minute consultation if you are unsure about whether an assessment is right for you at this time.
Our assessments involve three parts:
1) A diagnostic interview using a gold standard interview tool, i.e. the ACIA and/or the ADI-R (if you have an informant, we'll use the ADI-R with them)
2) A clinical interview to understand your mental health, physical health and any other diagnoses you might have
3) A developmental history to understand your early life and development throughout life (ideally done with an informant, if you have one)
The three parts can be conducted in one session or over multiple sessions. Our assessments generally take up to 4 hours in total, with breaks included. You will also be asked to complete some questionnaires before we meet, and ideally an informant who either knew you in childhood or who knows you well now would do some too. Our reports will focus on your specific needs and recommendations tailored to you.
We have expertise in gender, including subtle differences that men and women may experience, the role of masking based on societal expectations, and in supporting trans and non-binary people who may be autistic alongside their transition journey. We pay attention to these in all of our assessments to ensure we can best support you in understanding yourself and moving forwards.
We also provide support for businesses, including consultancy, training and audits around mental health and neurodivergence to ensure employees' needs are met.
