Elgin Academy

Moray Council

Main information

Type of service: Day schools, Schools

This is a mainstream secondary school. The new school building has an autism base which supports five young people with autism and complex needs, in partnership with Scottish Autism. The pupils engage in specialist learning programmes and, where possible, are included with students in the mainstream school for selected subjects.

The initiative also includes a specialist residential care provision for some of the young people who will be housed in fully supported accommodation. The aim is to help provide the service with a transition into more independent living as they progress into adulthood.
