I am Dr Bridie Lawler Whatson, a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist (HCPC registered) with over 10 years’ NHS experience. I currently work in a community learning disabilities team, where I regularly conduct autism spectrum condition (ASC) diagnostic assessments.
I am formally trained and regularly use the internationally recognised gold-standard tools:
• ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition
• ADI-R (Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised)
I also use comprehensive neuropsychological assessments (WAIS-IV, ABAS-3, and others) to support accurate differential diagnosis, including AuDHD, learning disabilities, and complex mental health presentations.
Private services offered (fully remote via secure video, UK-wide):
• Full autism diagnostic assessments for adults, adolescents, and children (where appropriate) – including comprehensive report and detailed feedback session
• Post-diagnostic neuro-affirmative therapy and support for late-diagnosed adults (coping with diagnosis, autistic burnout recovery, unmasking, identity integration, executive functioning, relationships, and workplace adjustments)
• Trauma-informed and person-centred approach
All work is delivered remotely. I work with adults, adolescents and children (where appropriate) who are seeking clarity, validation, and practical support around autism.
