Clear Path Counselling Somerset – Online UK Autism and Neurodiversity-Affirming Counselling

Main information

Service categories: Counselling and therapies

Clear Path Counselling Somerset offers integrative, trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming counselling for autistic, ADHD and otherwise neurodivergent adults and young people aged 16 and over, with online counselling available across the UK and in-person sessions in Street, Somerset.

Claire Kelly MBACP supports people who may be exploring autism, ADHD, late identification, masking, autistic or neurodivergent burnout, sensory and emotional overwhelm, anxiety, trauma, grief, identity, relationships and the lifelong experience of feeling different or misunderstood. A formal autism or ADHD diagnosis is not required.

The service is adapted around each person rather than expecting autistic or neurodivergent clients to fit a fixed counselling format. Before and during the work, clients can discuss their communication preferences, sensory needs, preferred pace and what helps sessions feel predictable and emotionally safe.

Possible adjustments include:

• clear information before the first session

• predictable appointment arrangements

• the option of online or in-person counselling

• additional processing time and a slower pace where helpful

• no expectation to make eye contact

• flexibility around pauses, silence and communication style

• sensitivity to masking, sensory overload and autistic or neurodivergent burnout

• collaborative discussion about the structure of sessions

• grounding and body-awareness practices adapted to the individual

• written clarification or follow-up where appropriate

Claire’s approach does not treat autism or neurodivergence as something to be cured or corrected. The aim is to offer a compassionate space where clients can understand themselves more deeply, recognise their needs, explore identity and belonging, and move towards greater self-acceptance.

Claire works integratively, drawing on person-centred counselling, trauma-informed practice, polyvagal awareness, Internal Family Systems-informed work, somatic approaches, mindfulness, compassionate enquiry and creative or symbolic exploration where appropriate.

Sessions are available online across the UK and in person in Street, near Glastonbury, Somerset. A free 20-minute introductory consultation is available.
