Why should I get involved?
Get moving - If you need motivation to focus on your wellbeing and get active this winter, this challenge offers you the flexibility to do so while supporting a great cause.
Get outside - Research shows that moving our bodies offers numerous health benefits. When life feels overwhelming, maintaining an active routine can make a big difference.
Get social - While this challenge is great for individuals, we encourage you to invite friends, family and colleagues to get involved. You can share the target or boost the distance and add a bit of friendly competition. Just remember, to receive our rewards, each person must register individually and raise the minimum targets mentioned above.
And remember, everything you raise, goes directly towards improving the lives of autistic people and their families. Find out more here.
Do I need to be fit to do this?
Please note, we advise you to check with your doctor if you are unsure about taking on a fitness level outside of your normal exercise routine. Age restrictions apply. View the terms and conditions for more information.
How do I register to take part and when?
Registration for this challenge is open 29th December until 31st January. We regret we cannot accept registrations beyond this date due to charity resources and planning. If you have missed the registration, please do check back for future challenges coming soon or consider getting involved in another event or World Autism Acceptance Month in April.
What do I get if I take part?
After you register, you will receive a T-shirt, tracker and sponsorship form in the post. Please allow 10 days for delivery. You can also earn fundraising rewards the more you earn – raise £30 or more by 15 February and get exclusive socks, earn £150 or more by 15 March and get your Move 28 medal and certificate and if you reach £250 or more by the 15 March, we’ll also send a water bottle!
Please note: T-shirts and trackers will be sent after registration and rewards after specified fundraising dates above. All deliveries can take up to 10 working days. These fundraising cut-off dates must be adhered to qualify for rewards. Medals and water bottles will be sent together.
*Due to costs, we cannot post T-shirts and rewards internationally.
You can join a private Facebook group, connect with fellow challengers from across the UK and be supported by our team of expert administrators throughout the challenge. We can’t wait to welcome you!
Where is my item/s expected in the post?
Please allow 10 days for deliveries – these apply after registration or the fundraising cut-off date listed above under ‘what do I get if I take part’. It really helps our charity if you can check this before you enquire as our team is very small and working hard to respond to supporters that need our help.
How do I track my daily 28-minute progress?
You can download our editable tracker here.
Where is my fundraising page link?
Please check your emails as this will be sent to you if you didn’t create this when registering. We find these often go to junk/spam. We recommend you add us and your online platform provider to your safe senders, so you don’t miss any future emails.
I’m using two fundraising pages – will it combine my total?
In short, no – I'm afraid this isn't possible. We recommend for ease you choose one online giving provider. If you do decide to register two pages, we would need to be informed so we can ensure you get your rewards. Please get in touch and email fundraising@nas.org.uk with your page links.
How do I get in touch if I have a query?
Please check the above questions as we have listed the most common here. For ease, you will get the fastest response in our Facebook group so please head there and one of our team will endeavour to help you. If you are unable to resolve your query, please email fundraising@nas.org.uk
