Get sponsored
If you're a keen runner, swimmer or cyclist, a sponsored challenge could be a good choice. Or how about a sponsored head shave, an exercise marathon, a sponsored silence or karaoke competition – get creative as you can!
Join Team AutismThere are endless ways to raise money through a sponsored event, activity or challenge. Whatever you choose, you’ll be supporting autistic people and their families.
A step by step guide
1. Decide on a date, time and place
Consider who can support you, your other commitments and when people are likely to sponsor you. Set an ambitious but achievable target. Fundraisers who set targets usually raise more.
2. Make it easy to receive donations
Ask for support from your networks, start an online giving page, download a sponsorship form for those who prefer to give cash and ask your employer if they match fund.
3. Promote your fundraiser
Share your efforts on social media, update your progress on your fundraising page, use photos and videos and ask us for a press release template for local media. If you can share your personal story, you will see a positive response.
4. Celebrate your efforts
Let your supporters know when you have finished. Be sure to thank everyone who helped you and donated. If you can do this through a channel with a link to a donation page, it could spark extra funds.
Safety should always be a top priority
Please DO NOT take any unnecessary risks. If in doubt about any health risks, take medical advice. Consider whether your activity requires any kind of liability insurance. Unfortunately, activities organised by supporters cannot be covered by the charity’s liability insurance.
