Terms for Inclusion in the Autism Services Directory
We will accept services that:
- Have been created or their delivery has been amended to meet the needs of autistic people and/or their families in the UK.
- Ascribe to our organisational mission, vision and values.
- Can confirm that they meet any relevant legal and regulatory requirements associated with their provision, including data protection, and have key company policies in place.
- Provide an ongoing service (ie not a one-off event).
- Have a website or social media link to allow autistic people and their support networks to research and appraise the services offered on the directory.
We will not accept services that:
- Do not have specific autism provision or specific, demonstrable adjustments made for autistic people.
- Purport to ‘cure’ autism or link autism to vaccines.
- Portray autism in a negative way and make autistic people feel that they are at fault or ’less’ than non-autistic people.
- Use or promote the use of interventions that don’t have appropriate certification and/or a documented evidence base, including but not limited to, Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and facilitated communications.
- Do not offer provision to or be relevant to the UK population or international organisations who practice in the UK unless the provider can provide evidence of how they align with UK law, legislation, insurance requirements, practice regulations and governance.
- Organisation or directors in their role in the organisation have been found guilty of a serious crime e.g. corruption, money laundering, fraud or bribery etc.
- Have received any significant adverse publicity or we are made aware of significant volumes of complaints against them.
We reserve right to use our due diligence process review in relation to organisations that have links to: pharmaceutical, gambling, tobacco, alcohol, flexi payment companies, weapons, debt management / pay day lenders / short term loan providers against our organisational due-diligence policy to decide whether they will be accepted.
