Main information

Type of service: Day services

The National Autistic Society Cymru Centre, Cardiff (Ty Yfory) is a resource for adults with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) living in Cardiff. The National Autistic Society Cymru Centre, Cardiff (Ty Yfory) is situated next-door to the current Ty Ddraig day service. The National Autistic Society Cymru Centre, Cardiff (Ty Yfory) is a step down or move on resource for people who attend Ty Ddraig whose behaviours have stabilised and are now ready to further develop their skills. It is also for individuals who do not attend The National Autistic Society (NAS) Cymru autism centres but still require one to one support. NAS Cymru Centre, Cardiff (Ty Yfory) is a fully person centred resource that strives to offer a range of activities and opportunities, providing these at the resource base and in the wider community. The onus of the resource is on development and progression. We want to support people to move on over time and not to stagnate in the same service for the rest of their lives. We aspire for people to access mainstream services and achieve as much integration as they can choose or manage. Whilst using a graded approach to this so as to ensure success for individuals. Each person can expect to have an Individual development plan which may include some of the following: life skills; communication; travel training; social skills; art and craft; managing anxiety therapies; managing your autism; information technology; health & wellbeing; food technology; key skills; supported employment and access to mainstream services..
