About our group

We are a small and friendly group of autistic women who meet up monthly for a coffee and chat in Yelverton. Set up by Wendy in 2013, though name and location have recently changed. Everyone who identifies as an autistic woman is welcome, it does not matter where you live as long as you can get to meetings (parking and bus stop close to meeting place).

More men and boys are currently diagnosed with autism than women and girls. The most up-to-date ratio is 3:1. There are various theories to explain this.

: Welcome to the
Adult Autism and ADHD service
Our service provides initial diagnosis and assessment for adults in Devon who have not previously been diagnosed and whose symptoms are consistent with an Autism Spectrum Condition or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
Our service supplements existing services and provides training and support to Devon Partnership Trust staff to manage people with Autism/ADHD, to enable them to have sufficient skills and knowledge for this client group.

To improve outcomes for people who are autistic, their families, and carers by providing the information and appropriate support required to be as independent as possible. To support people with autism to lead fulfilling and rewarding lives with access to as many opportunities as possible.
We will achieve this through building a greater awareness of Autism, effective partnership working, and by making the best use of available resources.

Our mission is that all adults on the spectrum in Devon who don’t have a learning disability, know about our group and can access it if they would like to. We also aim to provide information for anyone who has ASC in Devon without a learning disability, including their families and carers.
