Clare Hughes
Clare Hughes has worked at the National Autistic Society for the past 22 years. She has worked exclusively in the area of autism and the criminal justice system for over a decade. This has included leading on several projects funded by His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service to improve support and outcomes for autistic people, projects looking at exploitation and young autistic people, working with the National Autistic Society’s Autism Accreditation team to develop standards for criminal justice settings, co-authoring journals and book chapters as well as being involved in research.
Clare is passionate about ensuring the needs of autistic people in the criminal justice system are met and that those working with them have the knowledge, support and resources they need to achieve this.
