On Demand - Kathy Leadbitter
The autism intervention landscape can be difficult to navigate. This talk will discuss key considerations in choosing interventions that are evidence-based and ethical. Learning outcomes from this talk include:
- thinking critically about intervention claims
- understanding different levels of evidence and how to evaluate the evidence
- evaluating the ethical basis of an intervention
- reflecting on when to intervene and when not to intervene
- evaluating whether an intervention is deficit-focussed and neuro-normative versus neurodiversity-affirmative.
