Share your story in our campaign around late diagnosis among women
Our new campaign, launching in October 2022, will raise awareness of autism in women and girls and non-binary people, and the impact that late diagnosis has had on their lives. If you identify as female or non-binary, and found out you were autistic as an adult, we would love you to share your story and feature in our campaign.
We know that many autistic women and girls go through much of their lives undiagnosed. Our campaign is asking you to share your story of late diagnosis (or autism self-awareness) so that others can learn from your experience, join our supportive online community and read our information on women and autism. Autistic women finding autistic women.
The photos for this campaign may be photographed by a well-known photographer and it will feature in advertisements. If you support an autistic woman then you are welcome to apply on their behalf, if you have their agreement. Please make this clear in the submission.
Deadline for responses is 11 August 2022. We will come back to you by 16 August to tell you about the next steps. Please note, sadly we won’t be able to use every story but there will be opportunity for people to share their own stories as part of our campaign.
We are looking for autistic women willing to share their story but also who would be interested in being photographed. The photography is scheduled to be during the week of 30 August and would be in your own home (reasonable associated expenses will be paid by the National Autistic Society and you will receive some compensation for your time). More details in the form below.
If you have any questions prior to filling out this form, or simply would rather email us your interest, then please email to womens.campaign@nas.org.uk.
We look forward to hearing from you!
