About the Jungle Run virtual event

Walk, jog or run your chosen distance anytime between Thursday 1 – Saturday 31 August 2019. You don't have to complete your set distance all in one go (ideal for hectic schedules) and you pick the scenery; your local park, running track or even the back garden! Whenever and wherever you do it, just know that you’ll be making a real difference to autistic people and their families.

Our jungle-themed virtual run is perfect for anyone, so whether you’re a first time runner or aiming for a personal best, it’s going to be a ‘roarsome’ event you can do by yourself, with a ‘pack’ of mates, or as a family, with your ‘cheeky little monkeys’!

You could even make your run more fun: take part in animal fancy dress, wear your favourite animal print or even animal face paint! We encourage you to take pictures and share them on our Jungle Run Facebook group, tweet them @autism or share on Instagram – and don’t forget the hashtag #TeamAutism

Looking for costume ideas? Meet Ben, autistic man and Team Autism member. He'll be making a splash this summer and taking on the Jungle Run dressed as a penguin!

How we will support you

Everyone who takes part in our Jungle Run virtual event will receive:

  • access to our Team Autism Facebook and Strava running groups to meet other runners
  • access to our downloadable fundraising and training materials
  • dedicated support from Senior Events Officer, Rachael Lynch
  • a limited edition medal and well-deserved certificate.
  • a prize for the top overall fundraiser (could it be you?)

I love virtual runs because they help get my trainers on when I’m having a motivational dip. They’re really helpful in that they’re flexible and can be worked in around my busy schedule!
