Information, Advice and Support Kent (IASK) (previously Kent Parent Partnership Service)
Main information
Type of service: Family support and information services
Service URL: http://www.kent.gov.uk/iask
We provide a special educational needs and disabilities
(SEND) information, advice and support service for parents of a child or young
person with special educational needs (SEN) or a disability, and children or
young people up to the age of 25 years with special educational needs or a
disability. Our trained staff can give you legally based advice, information
and support on educational matters relating to special educational needs and
disabilities, including health and social care. We aim to provide information
and support to enable parents, children and young people to: fully participate
in discussions and make informed decisions; express their views and wishes
about education and future aspirations; promote independence and self-advocacy;
and develop positive relationships with schools, colleges, the local authority
and voluntary organisations to achieve positive outcomes. Please
contact them if you would like them to send you a quantity of our
Parent Support leaflets or their wallet sized leaflets that explain about
their service. If you have space for a poster, Information, Advice and
Support Kent (IASK) would be really pleased to send one to you. For further
information about their service and drop-ins held in your area, please see
the website or contact them on the office telephone number 03000 412412 or
