Ifield School is a co-educational Foundation Special School for 210 pupils with profound, severe and complex educational needs (special educational needs (SEN)) and communication and interaction difficulties aged 4 to 19 years. The school has been designated as a specialist school for SEN in Communication and Interaction by the Special Schools Academies Trust. The school aims to provide an ethos which enables pupils to develop their confidence through success within a welcoming environment. Pupils benefit from a specialised curriculum and follow personalised pathways appropriate to their individual learning needs through the delivery of the National Curriculum. The school has a school woodland which is used to support the curriculum. Key Stage 4 (KS4) and sixth form students are given opportunities to develop life and employability skills to prepare them for the next phase of their life. Ifield SMILE (Supporting Multi-Professional Inclusive Learning and Education) provides support for 38 Gravesham Schools which includes outreach, staff training and resources.
