Dr. Kayleigh Brown
Dr Kayleigh Brown is a Principal Clinical Psychologist working within Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust, who specialises in supporting neurodivergent individuals. She is passionate about neuro-affirmative practice and has supported the development of an adult NHS Neurodevelopmental Service to adopt more neuro-affirmative ways of working. Within this role, she offers consultation, supervision, and clinical leadership to a multi-disciplinary team, maintaining an ethos of compassionate, person-centred care throughout her work.
Part of her NHS role includes leading on an NHS England pilot project, aimed to provide specialist advice to support mental healthcare professionals working with autistic adults. Support is provided by facilitating discussion about how autistic people may experience mental health and considering Equity Adjustments that may help autistic individuals access and engage with appropriate services. The project also supports professionals to complete person-centred, neuro-affirmative autism assessments, where appropriate. The work has led to the development of numerous resources to ensure equitable access and achieve positive outcomes for autistic people, including a neuro-affirmative reference guide for clinicians.
