Supporting autistic people using the SPELL framework
This course is aimed at professionals who already have an understanding of autism, this training introduces the National Autistic Society’s SPELL framework and supportive approaches. SPELL is a framework for understanding and responding to autistic people’s needs. It will allow you to develop better practice and use evidence-based strategies to support autistic children and adults.
Tier 2 Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism
Mandatory training on learning disability and autism, with the expertise of autistic people, people with a learning disability and subject matter experts. The training is delivered by the National Autistic Society, who deliver the autism content and have been involved in ‘Oliver’s training’ since 2020, and the Estia Centre, a training centre that specialises in delivering training on learning disability.

This module provides perspectives from autistic people about how autism is defined and experienced. It will enable learners to recognise the strengths and challenges experienced by many autistic people and how to respond to create enabling environments.
A guide to the mental health needs and experiences of autistic teenagers
The aim of the module is to increase understanding of autistic experience, autistic mental health experiences and to explore supportive strategies to support young autistic people’s mental health.
