Who we are

National Autistic Society: Learn is the National Autistic Society’s professional learning and practice-improvement service.

We bring together:

• the authority and trust of the National Autistic Society
• professional learning, consultancy and accreditation that support real, practical change in workplaces, services and public environments
• an approach grounded in lived experience, evidence and co-production

Our role is to support organisations and professionals to move from growing awareness to confident, credible inclusive practice.

Why organisations work with us

Organisations often come to National Autistic Society: Learn because they want to make meaningful progress — but face practical challenges along the way.

Common starting points include:

• wanting staff to feel more confident and consistent
• improving experiences for autistic people in services, workplaces or public environments
• linking inclusion work to wider organisational goals such as recruitment, retention, reputation or service outcomes
• seeking a trusted partner whose credibility helps them build internal support

At the same time, many organisations are working within real constraints, including:

• limited budgets and staff capacity
• uncertainty about where to begin
• difficulty building internal buy-in
• the complexity of turning awareness into sustained change

Our role is to help organisations navigate these challenges and identify practical next steps that fit their context.

How we support organisations and professionals

Organisations and professionals often come to us at different points in their inclusion journey. Some are looking to build understanding and confidence. Others are working to embed inclusive practice across teams, services or environments. Some are ready to demonstrate their progress through recognised standards.

Often the starting point for organisations or professionals who want to improve understanding of autism and neurodiversity and feel more confident supporting autistic people in their roles.

Accessible learning helps people build practical knowledge and apply that understanding in real situations.
 

Embed inclusive practice

Many organisations reach a stage where they want to move beyond awareness and ensure inclusive practice is embedded consistently across teams, services or environments.

Consultancy and frameworks help translate learning into practical change, supporting stronger systems, improved environments and better outcomes.
 

Recognise progress and strengthen standards

Some organisations want to demonstrate their commitment to inclusive practice and show the progress they have made.

Accreditation and recognition pathways provide a structured way to evidence improvement, strengthen standards and signal leadership in inclusive practice.
