Understanding and supporting sensory needs

This course explores how sensory differences can impact autistic people and the supportive approaches that may help.

About the course


If you work with autistic children or adults, you’ll be aware that the autistic sensory world can feel quite different and this can have an impact on people’s daily life and behaviour. If you’d like to understand more about this and learn practical ways of giving positive support, join us for this course.

The course is designed for professionals who work with autistic children or adults and already have a good understanding of autism.

Please note: This course is offered as a package with access to our 'Understanding autism' e-learning module so that anyone who does not have a good understanding of autism can gain this knowledge prior to attending.

Training details and timings


Our interactive training options provide delegates with access to our courses in a learner friendly and accessible way. Your training will be delivered by one of our experienced and knowledgeable training consultants, using a combination of PowerPoint presentation, videos and discussion to support learning. We schedule regular breaks into all our sessions.

This course is delivered between 9.30am – 3.30pm including breaks and lunchtime.
 

Live online courses are delivered using Microsoft Teams 

Delegates will be sent joining links and handouts prior to the course. We have approximately 25 delegates on each group, and we try to be sensitive to individual adjustments that people may need, including cameras being optional and using the chat function for interactions. 


Face-to-face courses are delivered at a venue of your choosing 

Electronic handouts are provided in advance for printing. We have approximately 30 delegates on each group.

  • £2,295 + VAT (with module access for all delegates)

Face-to-face training for organisations

Training just for your organisation, up to 30 delegates:

  • £1,945 + VAT (no module access)
  • £2,625 + VAT (with module access for all delegates)
