Leon Allain

Leon is a research assistant on the Autism Transition to Adulthood Group (ATAG) project.
As an autistic young adult who experienced varying degrees of support throughout school, postgraduate studies and the world of work, Leon is a strong advocate for the value of effective, empathetic support for all. He is especially passionate about ensuring that all young people can achieve in education, championing the importance of autism awareness and acceptance. Leon hopes that autistic pupils may then face fewer barriers while trying to access the curriculum.
Leon has provided consultancy and training for The LEGO Foundation and the LEGO Group. His projects include supporting the development of an inclusive remote education platform for marginalised children across Africa.
Outside of advocacy and consultancy, Leon hosts and runs neuroinclusive networking events called An Alternative Perspective. These events bring people of all neurotypes together to connect with one another and improve their understanding of neurodivergence, with the objective of reducing the obstacles that neurodivergent people face in finding meaningful employment.
