Benjamin Redmayne

Benjamin Redmayne is a Programme Manager at Ambitious about Autism and a Predoctoral Fellow at the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). He is also studying for an MSc in Psychological Sciences at University College London (UCL). His research focuses on co-production and mental health support for autistic young people. With a background in programme management and participatory practice, Benjamin has led initiatives that bridge academic research and real-world impact for autistic young people.
At Ambitious about Autism, he co-designed and delivered a post-diagnostic peer support intervention as part of the NIHR-funded Autism Transition to Adulthood Group (ATAG) study. He worked closely with autistic young people, researchers and sector partners to lead intervention co-design, facilitate advisory groups and contribute to peer-reviewed publications. His work champions accessibility and inclusion, particularly for autistic individuals with multiple marginalised identities.
Benjamin has also worked in the arts and education sectors, including roles at Wigmore Hall and Trinity Laban Conservatoire, where he developed creative programmes to support wellbeing and social connection. He is passionate about embedding co-production in research and service design and regularly contributes to advisory groups and policy consultations to ensure autistic voices shape the systems that affect them.
Benjamin’s current research explores how co-production can be meaningfully evaluated and scaled to improve outcomes for autistic young people across health, education, and social care.
