Sybil Elgar Summer 2025 round-up
Published on 04 August 2025

As we come to the end of another busy academic year, there is so much to reflect on that has happened across our school community. A year full of learning, celebration and achievement. We are incredibly proud of all our pupils, students and staff.

We had a fabulous 60th anniversary celebration at our Summer Social Graduation Party which took place on Saturday 12th July. Jackie, Sybil Elgar’s daughter, attended as our VIP guest and said:
"It was a pleasure to attend and I really can’t believe it’s 60 years since Mum opened the school in Ealing. She was a really lovely person, dedicated to the kids, but also a sense of fun. Really wish you could all have met her, you would have loved her! She would have been so proud of you all and what you have achieved at the Sybil Elgar school, thank you all."
Looking ahead
As always, it’s hard to say goodbye to those who are leaving us this year. We hope your time at Sybil Elgar has been as special for you as it has been for us. Please remember that you and your families are always welcome at future Summer Socials, we’d love to stay in touch.
We hope you all have an enjoyable summer break. We look forward to seeing our pupils and students back on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. Follow the link to the term dates for the academic year 2025-2026.

A closing note from our therapy team
As the summer break begins, some students may enjoy the rest while others find the change in routine challenging. Sharing clear, simple plans and keeping parts of the daily routine can help ease anxiety. A mix of familiar and new activities, with room for rest and flexibility, often works best. Visual supports and gentle structure can make the holidays feel more manageable for everyone. For more information please view our TDT newsletter here.
