Autism and SPELL in higher education

This course is for university mentors and study skills tutors who support autistic students and want to know more about autism and supportive approaches.

About the course


This course builds your knowledge of autism and how to support autistic students at university. The content is based around SPELL, which is a framework that supports our understanding of autistic experience and how to explore supportive approaches.
  
This course meets part of the NMH Mandatory Qualifications for Specialist Mentor Autism and Specialist one-to-one Study Skills and Strategy Support – Autism.

Training details and timings


Our interactive training provides delegates with access to our courses in a learner friendly and accessible way. Your training will be delivered by one of our experienced and knowledgeable training consultants, using a combination of PowerPoint presentation, videos and discussion to support learning. We schedule regular breaks into all our sessions. 

This course is delivered between 9.30am – 3.30pm including breaks and lunchtime.
 

Live online courses are delivered using Microsoft Teams 

Delegates will be sent joining links and handouts prior to the course. We have approximately 25 delegates on each group, and we try to be sensitive to individual adjustments that people may need, including cameras being optional and using the chat function for interactions. 


Face-to-face courses are delivered at a venue of your choosing 

Electronic handouts are provided in advance for printing. We have approximately 30 delegates on each group.

Training just for your organisation, up to 25 delegates:

  • £3,795 + VAT (with NMH module bundle access for all delegates)
