  1. About these terms
    1. By acknowledging receipt of these terms and conditions and proceeding to participate in the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise funds in aid of the National Autistic Society (NAS), you agree and undertake to comply with the following specific terms.

      There are two types of participants:

      • Charity Place – allocated a place by NAS
      • Own Place – secured a place independently
       
  2. NAS Charity Place
    1. Eligibility
      By registering for a charity place with NAS, you confirm that you:
      • Are aged 18 years or older on race day.
      • Are medically fit to take part in the event
      • Will follow all event organiser rules and instructions
    2. Allocation of Places
      • Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis by completing a registration form and payment of registration fee.
      • A reserve/waiting list may operate. Please see 2.3 for further details on registration fee if you are offered a place from the reserve/waiting list.
    3. Registration Fee
      • A £40 registration fee must be paid at the time of registration.
      • If you are offered a place from our reserve/waiting list, you will have 5 days to pay £40. If you fail to pay within the deadline, we will offer the place to another reserve.
      • This fee is non-refundable.
      • Failure to pay may result in your place being withdrawn, your removal from the list of runners on behalf of the NAS, and re-allocation of your place.
    4. Exclusivity
      • Charity place participants must fundraise for and represent only NAS in connection with this event.

    6. Donor transparency
      Participants must take reasonable steps to ensure donors understand how their money will be used. You must ensure donors understand that some funds may contribute towards event costs. Participants are encouraged to use the following wording:
      “I’m taking part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon 2027 to raise funds for the National Autistic Society. Some of the funds raised may contribute towards the costs of my participation, with the remainder supporting the charity’s work. Any donation you give is greatly appreciated.”

  3. Own Place Runners
    1. If you have secured your own place
      • No registration fee is payable to NAS
      • All funds raised are treated as voluntary donations and go directly to NAS’s charitable work.
      • We ask that you commit to aiming for a meaningful fundraising target to help support our work.
  4. General Terms (All participants)
    1. Event registration
      • Irrespective of whether you seek a charity place allocated by the NAS, or have obtained your own place, you are nonetheless required to complete the event organiser’s registration console to be registered as a participant by that body.
      • Your authority to take part and raise funds on behalf of the NAS is dependent upon your having successfully completed the event organiser’s console registration.
      • Failure to complete or maintain this registration may result in you being withdrawn from the event.
      • Charity places may be reallocated if registration is not completed.
    2. Fundraising standards
      • Your fundraising must be legal, open, honest and respectful.
      • You must be polite to people at all times
      • You must not criticise or insult other people or organisations whilst undertaking any event in aid of the National Autistic Society.
      • You must not fundraise in a way which is an unreasonable intrusion on a person’s privacy, is unreasonably persistent or places undue pressure on a person to donate. Once a person clearly indicates that they do not want to speak to you, you must end the conversation in a polite way.
      • You must not mislead anyone by leaving out information or by being inaccurate or ambiguous or by exaggerating details.
      • Your fundraising must meet equality law as it applies in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
      • You must not discriminate against people with characteristics protected under the law of these countries.
      • You must not exploit the trust, lack of knowledge, apparent need for care and support or vulnerable circumstance of any donor at any time.
      • You must not take a donation if you know, or have good reason to believe, that a person lacks capacity to decide to donate, or is in vulnerable circumstances which mean they may not be able to make an informed decision.

        NAS reserves the right to withdraw your place if:
         
      • Your behaviour risks reputational damage
      • There is evidence of fraud or misconduct.
        and NAS will not be liable for any costs incurred as a result of this withdrawal.
    3. Event deliverability and liability
      • The organiser, Tommy’s, specialises in challenges of this nature and is solely responsible for organising and running the event, including the safety of participants.
      • Neither the NAS nor Tommy’s will accept liability for any injury, loss or damage unless it arises from their negligence. NAS is not responsible for the delivery or safety of the event.
    4. Participitation Rules
      • The swapping or sale of race numbers is strictly prohibited for reasons of safety.
      • You are strongly advised to take out personal injury insurance covering you to take part in this event.
      • You must not suffer from alcohol or drug dependency, nor have any unspent criminal convictions which you have not disclosed when applying to participate. 
      • You will be responsible for providing your own personal equipment.
      • You are strongly advised to train for the event and prepare appropriately for your challenge. If you have not exercised for some time, you should consult your doctor for a check-up and abide by any clinical advice given.

    5. Fundraising materials and publicity
      • All your fundraising activities and materials should make it clear that you are fundraising “in aid of” the National Autistic Society, and that you do not represent the National Autistic Society
      • We have a variety of National Autistic Society fundraising resources for you to use to help promote your activity including our “in aid of” logo.
      • Production of your own materials
        • If you plan to produce your own materials, please use our “in aid of” supporter logo.  You must not use our main National Autistic Society logo.  
        • The NAS today does not associate itself with, nor use the jigsaw/puzzle symbol. We strongly discourage the use of this symbol.
        • If you plan to use AI to create materials you must preserve our branding and “in aid of” logo by asking your AI source:
          • “to create a [type of content] Place my uploaded logo in the [top/left/right/bottom] corner. Strictly preserve the exact colours, font, and design of the logo – not alter, warp, or regenerate the logo in any way. Keep it identical to the provided reference.”
        • We would also advise adding the following statement to any of your own materials:
          The National Autistic Society is registered as a charity in England and Wales (269425) and in Scotland (SC039427).
    6. Photography and Media
      • Please note that the event organisers may take photographs or video recordings at the event under their own terms and conditions. We recommend reviewing their privacy information separately.
      • Where NAS receives or captures images or recordings in which you may be identifiable, we may use these for promotional and communication purposes, including on our website, social media channels, and in printed materials such as magazines and reports.
      • We will only use your image where we have explicit consent to do so and will correspond with you separately to obtain your direct consent.
    7. Data Privacy
      • NAS will only contact you in the ways you want, and we’ll keep your data safe. See our privacy notice for further details.
      • This event is organised and managed by a third-party event provider. By registering, you acknowledge that your personal data (your name and contact details) will be shared with the event organiser for the purposes of administering your participation in the event. The event organiser will process your data in accordance with their own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review.
